About Servants of Christ Church |
|
Worship
God's great love has been shown us in Jesus Christ, His Son and our Savior. This love
calls us to an expressive and heartfelt response in praise and worship. In worship we
declare God's goodness, acknowledge our dependance on Him and open our hearts to receive
from Him. |
|
Our Mission
To call and equip ourselves and others to be
disciples of Jesus Christ who live by the Great Commandsments and fulfill the Great
Commission |
|
|
Our Vision
Christ's great love calls us to be a growing body of His devoted
disciples, actively serving the Lord and one another and actively serving and witnessing
to the people of St. Clair County. |
Our Sunday Services
As we meet together on Sunday mornings, our two highest priorities are worship and
teaching. The first portion of our service is devoted to a time of corporate praise and
worship. The second portion of our service is spent in hearing God's Word. During this
second time period, Sunday school classes are provided for children and youth. Nursery
care is available for infants and toddlers during both the worship and teaching times. Our
service begins at 10:30am and concludes by 12 noon. |

Biblical
Preaching and Teaching
The Bible, God's Word, supplies practical wisdom for how we are to
live responsible, healthy and productive lives. In Servants of Christ Church you will find
Biblically-sound preaching and teaching aimed at real needs and situations in life.

Mission
The Church is called by Christ to His mission in the world: proclaiming
the Good News and caring for others. Our church's monthly schedule is designed to
leave time available for our members to invest well in their own families and be involved
in local mission opportunities. Our concerns for God's mission extends not only into our
own city and county, but beyond as we regularly support the work of overseas missions in
places including Brazil, Peru, Russia, North Africa and the Phillippines. |
Small
Groups
We invite and encourage participation in a small group for fellowship,
study and prayer. Our Home Fellowships and Mens' and Women's
Fellowships provide opportunities to support one another in becoming more effective
servants of Christ. A schedule of these small groups is found in each Sunday's bulletin. |

Our
Affiliation
Servants of Christ is a member church in the Alliance for Renewal
Churches, a network of churches in the Eastern and Midwest U.S., and abroad. The Alliance
for Renewal emphasizes the strengthening of the Body of Christ through missions, spiritual
renewal of the local church and the training of church leadership. |
Our Pastor
Rev. Stuart Brown has served as pastor of Servants of Christ since
1985. He and his wife Peggy have three children: Amy, Rachel and David. Stu has been
actively involved in church leadership and renewal ministry since 1975. His passion in
ministry is to know Christ and to make Him known to others. He loves helping people
discover Jesus Christ and how to live for Him! |

Statement of Beliefs |
|
God
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father,
Son and Holy Spirit. One in nature, equal in attributes, power and glory. |
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, who came to earth as the incarnate Son of
God, fully God and fully man. He died a substitutionary death for the sins of the world,
rose again from the dead and ascended to His place of glory at the Father's right hand. |
|
|
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule
of faith and practice. |
Salvation
We believe that men and women were created in God's image, were
tempted by Satan and rebelled against God. In this rebellion humankind fell into sin and
the hopeless condition of separation from God. Yet, through repentance and personal faith
in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven our sins, reborn by the Holy Spirit, and we become
children of God by adoption, receiving the gift of eternal life. |
|
|
The Church
We believe the Church is the living Body of Christ, consisting of all
those who have entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
The Church exists to bring glory to Jesus Christ, to be a united family of faith and love
and to make Christ known to others. |
The Holy
Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit to convict of
sin, to teach, to guide, to heal, to gift us to worship and serve God and to empower us to
make Christ known in the world. |
|
|
Christ's
Return
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ to raise the dead, judge
all people and fully establish His glorious Kingdom. Those who have been reborn in Christ
will live with Him forever. |
