We at Lamb of God Fellowship are committed to the pre-eminence of God in all of life and exhibit that commitment in the following ways:
Our aim is a blending of worship styles. We are convinced that both freedom and form are important elements of worship. The New Testament does not contain a single, precise method of worshipping God. Instead, we see glimpses of how the early Christians worshipped, and from this we can gather principles of what our worship should look like. Additionally, we believe that the Old Testament, when properly understood through the lens of the New Testament, also gives us principles of how we are to worship today. Keeping in mind that we believe the Scriptures alone govern true worship, we also believe it is permissible to consider the historic tradition of the church in this matter. We value the ways in which Christians throughout the ages have attempted to apply the Scriptures to public worship. While we do not treat the opinions of Christians from past eras as anything more than opinions, we benefit from the contribution that thoughtful Christians throughout church history have made to our understanding. |
