Our Faith

We are committed to what has been called "Historic Christian Orthodoxy."
By this we mean that Lamb of God aims to express core Christian beliefs in ways which have been common to the church of Jesus Christ throughout the past 20 centuries. These beliefs are contained in classic historic confessions like the Apostlešs Creed and Nicene Creed, and refined in reformational creeds like the Westminster Confession.

In taking this approach, we allow for certain areas of Christian belief, such as baptism and eschatology (the study of last things) to remain matters of diversity, recognizing that Christians have often disagreed about them. Our attitude towards theology is summed up in the saying:

"In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, diversity; and in all things, charity."

  • We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  • We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
